Last road on Earth in a literal sense (as the planet is a sphere), the E-69 Highway in Norway is often referred to as the Last Road of the World.
Northernmost Public Road: It's the northernmost public road in Europe, taking travelers closest to the North Pole that can be reached by a major international road network.
Ends at the Arctic Ocean: The E-69 highway stretches to North Cape, a dramatic cliff overlooking the Arctic Ocean. Beyond this point, there are no further roads, only sea and glaciers.
Remote and Challenging: The road is known for its extreme conditions, especially in winter, with heavy snow and ice. Some sections require travel in convoys due to the risk of getting lost.
While other remote roads like the Dalton Highway in Alaska or the Trans-Taiga Road in Canada are incredibly isolated, the E-69 holds the "last road" moniker due to its unique position at the very edge of drivable land in the European continent, facing the vastness of the Arctic.
